Grand Marais and the Gunflint

We headed north for a (somewhat annual) weekend at the Dilley Cabin. A quick stop in Grand Marais included dinner at the Angry Trout (yum) and some rock throwing. Those little pebbles are perfect for this toddler's hands. We found some still clenched in her fingers after we got back to the car.

Gorgeous.

Snackin' and playin' at the cabin.

First ever kitchen sink bath. Notice how everything on the counter is pushed way back. She's got fast hands.

We're (almost) in the boundary waters! After a quick snack we did paddle around this island. Technically it counts. Lucy did really well in the canoe for the most part. She napped and stood in the bow trying to touch the water. Kudos to Ry on the way back because he paddled while I tried to convince Lu that canoeing AND her life jacket were still awesome.

A bit out of order. This is from our trial run the evening before the big paddle.

Ready to go. Check out the sweet throne that Ryan made for our paddling princess. It comes with a retractable polka dot umbrella shade.

Summer is awesome.
The rest of the weekend included more paddling, some swimming, napping, food, walks, friends, fire (controlled), mosquito feeding and some fresh donuts in GM. And miraculously we managed to attend a B-day BBQ for Kerry on our way back into town. Good times. Now the week begins. Bring it on.
