belly photos

I had such good intentions of documenting the belly and Ryan's been reminding me but with a big belly and significant curves...I'm not always feeling photogenic...

First belly photo...16-18 weeks or so

It was so lovely out today in Duluth. Sunny and in the high 40s/50s. We went for a walk on the lake walk. Baby girl's first time lingering by the lake. And yes, we know it's a girl. Bring on the tea parties.

Now at 25 + weeks...the belly has become a visible presence although we've been able to feel her moving around for a while now...(me for almost 2 months and Ryan for a few weeks). It's very very cool.

Goodbye white carpet...hello beautiful floors

Everyone seems to start blogs about houses, babies, globe trotting and pets...

Well. Count us in. This post is a little wonky because I'm still learning how to insert pictures...and for some reason the font won't stay consistent...

First up: house renovations

I strongly disliked this white carpet from the very beginning. One week when Ryan was in far off North Dakota - I started pulling it up.

Attacked it with a bread knife to start. And yes, I was 4+ months pregnant at the time. Some would say it was a nesting thing...

Anyway - after a significant amount of pulling, cutting, staple removal, glue scraping, sanding, sanding, sanding and refinishing...the project is pretty much done. We just have to finish repainting/staining the front of the stair treads. It feels awesome. Major kudos go to my husband for putting up with my "let's just start this project and see what happens" attitude and for giving up weekends and evenings to make this happen.

For those who are worried - safety gear was used and no-VOC or super super low VOC products were used in all aspects of the project. I would recommend Poly-Soy as a floor sealer/varnish if you're looking for options.

Hallway and stairs done!

After we moved in...

And now!
