New Hampsha'

A train ride and parental shuttle service later...we were in New Hampshire. Neal and Kelly made the trek north with us. Ben and Trish drove up from B-town and Meredith, Esme and Sawyer trekked from VT. So lucky to have such gems of people in our lives.
Five minutes after getting there Esme was best friends with everyone. There are lots of other photos of she and Sawyer's super cuteness but we don't have them. We also don't have any good photos of Ben, Trish, Kelly or my dad - but I promise they were there and it was great to see them.
Lots of books were read, small toys were hoarded, fish eggs, horses and a ferocious tiger (aka Hannah the fluffy cat) were explored.
On Sunday wonderful friends and family came over to "greet the belly".

3.5 generations of women.

What kind folks to shower us with clothes and books and kind words and other gifts. Thanks for the party. It was a great time.

Laughing at a photo of me playing with that cradle as a kid. Will Baby E/Mr. T have those same blond blond curls?

Some quality time with the 'rents wrapped up the visit.

Central Park and the Gugg

After the museum we met up with Neal and went for a paddle...um, row rather. It was very romantic.

It is full on springtime in NYC. Look at all the green! It was intoxicating. Apparently you can go fishing in this pond. The smell of the water makes me think that's a bad idea but I do appreciate that folks can do things like that in the big city. This park is so amazing.
On the other end of the spectrum - we ended the day with a great meal and an art opening at the Gugg. Otherwise known as the Guggenheim. Fun to be there. Beautiful building. Very artsy. And a bit over my head.
Thanks Neal and Kelly for the NYC hospitality.

Natural History Museum

In NYC we stayed with Neal and Kelly. They were wonderful hosts...good company, inn keepers, tour guides etc. While they were bringing home the bacon, we played tourist and saw some sights.
On Friday we visited the Natural History Museum. We didn't see Ben Stiller or Robin Williams but DID see the biggest tree in the universe. Ok, maybe not but it sure seemed like it. Once stood over 300 feet tall. Took multiple days to cut it down. Giant trees are magic. Even in a museum.
And then there was this whale. whoa. Even models take my breath away. Can you imagine being in the water with this guy? Again. whoa.

The dinosaur collection was incredible. A blog post doesn't do it justice.

You can always find something fun in the gift shop. Support your local museum stores today!

New York New York...

New York, New York the city of dreams...and blossoms and friends and family...
A long weekend on the east coast included a walk in Prospect Park, ice cream and some catching up with Kim! The baby belly danced for Kim too. She (the baby) does that alot lately. Movin' and groovin' to some unknown tunes.

It's family time. Pam, Brian and Snickerdoodle visited this weekend. AND we're heading east this next weekend to see the New Englanders. Good times.
Future grandmothers are inspired to craft it up for our baby girl.

Ryan bonds with Snickerdoodle.

She doesn't think he's as charming as I do....

Now safely in the arms of her true love.

It's springtime!

Nothing says spring like a cheerful slogan when you come off the playground...this is over the door at the catholic school just up the stairs from our house.

Waterfalls in Congdon park are roaring.

Flowers!
