Random shots of Spring

It's smelting (and therefore collections) season in Duluth/at work. Lucy tested out the captain seat on Jay's boat.

Rock collecting is an intense past time. We're trying to establish that the rocks live outside (in the special rock dish). It will be a little while until she discovers that there are actually a large number of rocks living in the house.

Hiking in the April snow. She was adventurously going off trail. I like to think that I taught her to bushwhack today. We'll see if she remembers to hold branches for the person behind you.

Does this handbag match my outfit?

Tagging the neighborhood. Her tag is a pretty artsy straight line. Hopefully we don't find her under bridges or by the train tracks anytime soon.

Easter

Chocolate chips! "All gone?!"

Lucy and Linnea share a moment.

Working for her treats.

The Hedin's are pretty hard core. Linnea is preparing for the X-games.

Mimi and Gra Gra bring the Easter bunny

My parents came to visit this weekend. Lucy was delighted to have such enthusiastic new playmates. Everyone wins when grandparents are in town.

Down by the creek.

This is "ele-fun".

Our long legged girl got an upgrade this weekend. Her knees have been next to her nose for a while in my car. She's pretty excited to look forward.

This little chick was a hit.

Bath time baby (squared).

The goats says...

..."I want to eat their fingers...or coats...or cameras". We went to the zoo this morning. It was an epic moment when Lu spotted the sheep. She wanted to climb on down over the rip rap stones just to get closer. Joel, Natalie and Ethan joined us for part of the trek.

She's been really into "pretend sleeping" lately. Not so great at the actual going to bed part of the day. It's an epic struggle. I've heard that at this language explosion stage that kids are just SO excited to keep learning things that they have a hard time settling. I can believe that. She sleeps through the night though so for that I'm very grateful. Here she is going "night night" on the kitchen floor with Elmo and Peter baby while we were cooking dinner.

More baby wearing. This time we've moved on from the basic sling to the more robust Beco.
